MECHANICAL ENGINEERING 

VISION:

To be a premier department for education in Mechanical Engineering in Karnataka State , moulding     students into professional diplomats with ethical values as per the need of state holders.

MISSION:

  • M1 :- To provide teaching /learning facilities in Mechanical Engineering for easy adaptation to industry and higher learning.

  • M2 :- Provide a platform for self-learning to meet the challenges of changing technology and inculcate ethical value , team spirit and leadership qualities to succeed in professional career.

  • M3 :- Comprehend the societal needs and environmental concerns in the field of Mechanical engineering.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs):

  • Analyze, design and solve problems related to Mechanical Engineering and adapt to change in technology by self-learning.

  • Work effectively as individuals and in a team, exhibiting leadership qualities to meet the goals of a project or the organization.

  • Work with professionalism and concern for environment to meet the societal needs.

  • Engage in higher learning leading to degrees or certifications.

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs) :

  • Basic and Discipline specific Knowledge :- Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.

  • Problem Analysis :- Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

  • Design/Development of solutions :- Design solution for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of system components or processes to meet specified needs.

  • Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing :- Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.

  • Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment :- Apply appropriate technology in context of manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.

  • Project Management :- Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage project and effectively communicate about  well –defined engineering activities.

  • Life-long learning :- Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.

    PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs):

  • Apply concepts in core areas of Mechanical Engineering – Hydraulics and fluid power, management system, Mechanics of machines and thermal engineering to solve technical issues.

  • Develop and optimize solutions in computer aided manufacturing platforms.
